Life story
Jamilli Shakir Arif was born on December 4, 1992 in the village of Araz Dilagarda, Fizuli region. In 1999, he entered the 1st grade in the village of Araz Dilagarda, Fizuli region. When he was at school, thanks to his upbringing and education, he became a favorite of teachers. Graduated from this school in 2010.
In January 2011, he was called up for active military service by the Fizuli Military Commissariat. In July 2012, he was discharged from the army.
After completing various military courses in military unit No. 037 in 2015-2020, he continued to serve in this military unit as “commander of a special-purpose platoon of a repair armored unit.” During his service, he was awarded many honorary orders by his commanders. Actively participated in the battles of April 2016.
Shakir Jamilli participated in the Patriotic War, which the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan began on September 27, 2020 with the aim of liberating the territories occupied by Armenia and restoring the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. He fulfilled his duty with dignity in the battles in the direction of Zangilan, Gubadli, Khojavend, Hadrut, Fizuli, Djabrail, Lachin and Shusha.
Shakir Jamilli died on October 23, 2020 in the direction of Shushi while withdrawing an Armenian tank from the combat zone.
According to the orders of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Shakir Jamilli was posthumously awarded the “For the Motherland” award due to the fact that he participated in military operations to ensure the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and honorably fulfilled his duty while carrying out the tasks assigned to the military unit.
He was awarded the medals “For the liberation of Fuzuli”, “For the liberation of Shushi” and “Brave warrior”.
