Life story

Quiet, smiling, kind... Those who knew him will always remember him this way. But in his military uniform photo, he looks at everyone with sad eyes. Perhaps those eyes are filled with the sorrow of waiting for 31 years, longing to reunite with his fatherland, his mother’s breath... Asim Safarov Nadir oglu was born on September 30, 1975, in the village of Qamərvan, Gabala district. On September 1, 1982, he entered the first grade of Qamərvan village secondary school and completed 9th grade in 1990. He studied well, and although he was not an excellent student, he never told his teachers that he didn’t know the lesson. Asim, one of seven children of hardworking parents, understood well that he couldn’t let his parents down. His teachers and classmates also thought he could become a wonderful specialist in the future. However, no one could imagine that there were four heroes sitting in that class, and one of them was Asim. In 1990, after finishing the 9th grade, Asim Safarov entered the Gabala Vocational Education Center, specializing in locksmithing. The First Karabakh War, which cut many lives and dreams short, also deeply affected the hearts of mother Heyransa and father Nadir. On November 11, 1993, Asim Safarov was called up to the National Army. He fought in the Fizuli region and participated in the bloody battles for the village of Abdurrahmanli. After January 10, 1994, there was no more information about Asim. From that day on, his loved ones lived with the hope of seeing Asim’s bright face again. The father couldn’t bear this longing. The mother said, "I will watch these roads until I hear from my son." In April 2024, in the village of Shafag, Beylagan district, Asim’s body was discovered alongside other martyrs at the Peygamber cemetery. On May 7, Asim Safarov was buried in his native village. May your soul rest in peace, our martyr, who lived 31 years between the date of his martyrdom and his burial...
