Rufiz Budagov, a warrant officer of the Azerbaijani Army, was martyred on September 27, 2020, during the battles in the direction of Murovdag, during the Patriotic War for the liberation of territories occupied by Armenia. He was buried in the Second Honorary Alley.
The martyr was the eldest child in the family. His wife Nushaba Budagova recalls that on the day Rufiz was martyred, he contacted them: "He was a tank commander. He called me and said not to worry about him. At that moment, the connection was lost. He heroically fought for the Murov Heights. Rufiz was a kind person. Due to work, he was not often at home. When he came home, it was a celebration for us. He loved his job very much. If there was a problem with the tank, he would fix it himself. He was very attached to his homeland and land, which is why he was among the first to go into battle".
A street was named in his honor in the Binagadi district. Rufiz Budagov was posthumously awarded the "Karabakh" Order and the medals "For the Motherland" and "For the Liberation of Sugovushan" by the decrees of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
