Life story
Mehdi Zaman oglu Farzullazade was born on July 27, 1995, in the village of Bulbula in Baku. From 2002 to 2012, he received his secondary education at the 208th full secondary school in Baku. During his school years, he was awarded numerous honorary certificates for his achievements in sports competitions, especially in football. From 2013 to 2015, Mehdi served in the 3rd Army Corps of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces (Shamkir Corps) and was one of the heroes defending the Murov Heights. For his high achievements in combat and socio-political training, as well as his discipline, he was awarded an honorary certificate by the command.
After returning from military service, without experiencing the freedom of civilian life, Mehdi immediately started looking for a job. He got a job as an assistant mechanic in an auto repair shop. He quickly mastered the secrets of the profession and became recognized as a skilled mechanic. In July 2020, after the news of the martyrdom of several soldiers and officers, especially Major General Polad Hashimov, during an enemy provocation in Tovuz, Mehdi decided to volunteer for the army to fight the enemy.
On September 21, Mehdi was called up for combat training by the Surakhani military commissariat and participated in offensive operations from the first day of the Patriotic War. Mehdi fought valiantly in the Fuzuli-Jabrayil-Khojavend directions, being one of the brave soldiers who drove the enemy from our lands for 41 days. On November 7, 2020, Mehdi Farzullazade heroically martyred while carrying out a combat mission during the battles for height 612 in the Khojavend region, having been wounded by shrapnel from a mortar shell.
For his participation in combat operations to ensure the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and his honorable fulfillment of the tasks assigned, Mehdi Farzullazade was posthumously awarded the medals "For the Motherland," "For the Liberation of Khojavend," "For the Liberation of Fuzuli," and the 3rd degree "For Service to the Motherland" order by the relevant decrees of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
