Life story
Alibeyli Mikayil Khaligverdi oglu was born on December 23, 1992, in the city of Mingachevir. After graduating from secondary school, he served in the military in the city of Sumgait. After returning from service, he worked for a while as a baker in a confectionery factory in Baku. For nearly two years, he worked as a baker in Mingachevir. When the Patriotic War began, he went to defend the Homeland. He participated in battles for Terter, Agdere, and Sugovushan. On October 6, he heroically martyred while fulfilling a combat mission in the Agdere direction. He was buried on October 7 in the Alley of Martyrs in Mingachevir. On December 20, 2022, the street where he lived was named after Mikayil Alibeyli, and a spring was also built in his honor on that street. By the decrees of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Mikayil Alibeyli was posthumously awarded the medals "For the Motherland", "For Bravery", "For the Liberation of Sugovushan", and the III degree order "For Service to the Homeland".
