Life story
Osman Natig oglu Manafov was born on October 24, 1991, in Surakhani. He studied until the 11th grade at school No. 90 named after Richard Sorge in Baku, actively participated in school activities, and was loved by teachers and classmates. Osman was the second child in the family, known for his patience, calm demeanor, and loyalty to his loved ones. His serious character and dedication to his family set him apart from his two other brothers. He was also faithful to his love, marrying the woman he loved for seven years, though their marriage lasted only three years. Osman had a great interest in sports during his school years, particularly in martial arts, competing in various tournaments and winning honorary places. He pursued higher education in Georgia and enlisted for military service in October 2014. The young Osman took part in the April battles of 2016. When the Patriotic War of Azerbaijan began, Osman volunteered and joined the battles once again, sacrificing his life for the liberation of our lands and for the flag of Azerbaijan to fly again in Karabakh. He was notably active in the battles for Jabrayil, Fuzuli, Zangilan, and Gubadli and was martyred in the battle for Gubadli on October 27, 2020. Osman was buried in the Bulbula cemetery in Baku. He left behind a son. By the decrees of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Osman Manafov was posthumously awarded the medals "For the Motherland" and "For the Liberation of Fuzuli."
