Life story

Vahabzade Shakhin Mehdi oglu was born on January 31, 1969, in the village of Shahnazarli, Shabran district. After completing his education at the Shahnazarli village school in 1984, he enrolled in the technical vocational school in Cholqush, where he specialized in veterinary medicine. He was assigned to work at the Rehimli dairy and vegetable farming sovkhoz. From 1988 to 1990, Shakhin served in the military, where he trained as a driver. After completing his service in 1990, he worked as a driver in the district until September 1991.
In October 1991, Shakhin joined a volunteer unit formed in the district and participated in the battles against Armenian aggressors. The brave and courageous soldier took part in the bloody battles of Dashalti, Khojaly, Lachin, and Shusha, where he fought valiantly against the Armenian invaders using armored military vehicles.
On May 8, 1992, during the defense of Shusha, he was severely wounded, sustaining an injury to his right shoulder. While being evacuated from the siege, he was shot by an Armenian sniper. By the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, dated September 16, 1994, Shakhin Vahabzade (posthumously) was awarded the "Azerbaijani Flag" Order for his heroism and bravery in defending the lands of Azerbaijan from occupation.
One of the largest streets in the district is named after him.
