Life story
Ahmadov Mubariz Alizada was born on January 1, 1963, in the village of Qaratapa in Sabirabad region. In 1969, he entered an international school. In 1977, after completing the 8th grade, he entered the Saint Petersburg Cinema Technical College. However, due to the climate conditions, he could not adapt and returned to continue his studies. In 1980, he enrolled at the Azerbaijan Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages named after M.F. Akhundov. During his third year, he was drafted into the army, where he became a reconnaissance radio operator. After being discharged from the army in 1985, he resumed his education.
In 1989, Armenian armed forces launched an undeclared war against Azerbaijan. Mubariz volunteered for a self-defense battalion and joined the defense of Karabakh. He first joined the detachment of Yaqub Rzayev in the Agdam region. Later, Allahverdi Bagirov, the commander of the 845th military unit, appointed him as a company commander. He participated in battles in Dovshanli, Xramort, Qazanchi, Asgaran, Pirjamal, Aranzamin, Ağbulaq, Yenikand, Naxçıvanik, Abdal-Gülablı, Katik, Dahraz, Xanabad, and Şuşa. He fought bravely and earned a great reputation.
In 1991, a Turkish general, after witnessing his heroism, recommended that Mubariz pursue military education in the Republic of Turkey. All documents were prepared, but due to the ongoing fierce battles and heavy losses, Mubariz refused to leave for Turkey, choosing instead to continue fighting and avenge the fallen.
In the Abdal-Gülablı village of the Agdam region, on September 24, 1992, the decisive battle occurred. That day, the village was supposed to be liberated from the enemy. The enemy launched a nighttime artillery attack on the village. Despite the heavy fire, Azerbaijani forces launched a counteroffensive. Suddenly, a shell exploded nearby, and Mübariz was severely wounded. Even while wounded, he managed to lead his company out of the siege, but he ultimately died of his injuries.
By the decree of the President of Azerbaijan, dated September 16, 1994, Mubariz Alizada was posthumously awarded the title of "National Hero of Azerbaijan." He was buried in his native village, and a monument was erected in his honor in the Sabirabad region.
