Life story
Mammadov Saxavat Adgozal oglu was born on May 24, 1991, in Papravend village, Aghdam district. From 1998 to 2009, he studied at School No. 237 named after Ilgar Muradov in Shuvelan settlement, Khazar district.
On July 1, 2009, he began his mandatory military service in Military Unit No. N in the Imishli district. From 2014 onwards, he served as a shooter in a tank battalion located in Goranboy as a contracted military serviceman in the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. At the end of 2014, he requested to be transferred to the frontline and continued his service as a gunner in Military Unit No. N in the Tartar district. During his time there, he participated in the April battles, demonstrating his bravery.
In July 2020, he took part in the battles in Tovuz and then returned to his service location.
Səxavət Mammadov, a soldier of the Azerbaijani Army, demonstrated courage during the battles in the Aghdara direction in the Second Karabakh War, which began on September 27, 2020, aimed at liberating Azerbaijan's occupied territories. On September 29, 2020, he was killed in action while fulfilling his duty, attaining the status of a martyr.
He was laid to rest at the Martyrs' Alley in Aghdam on November 19, 2020.
After his death, he was posthumously awarded the medals "For the Homeland," "Brave Warrior," and "For the Liberation of Sugovushan" by decree of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
Səxavət Mammadov was married, and his two children, Dilek and Yusif, have been entrusted to the homeland.
