Life story
Martyr Ismayilzade Vagif Vugar oglu was born on November 6, 1996, in Mil settlement, Beylagan district. He began his education in 2003 at the Fazil Miriyev named Araz settlement secondary school. Vagif was a beloved student, always a shining example whose photo adorned the Honor Board of his school. He showed a keen interest in military matters from a young age, actively participating in various competitions and earning numerous certificates of honor.
After graduating in 2014, he started his mandatory military service on January 8, 2015, in Nasosny settlement of Sumgayit city. During his service, he was awarded honorary certificates multiple times. Upon completing his service on July 1, 2016, he returned to his hometown in Beylagan district and took up various jobs.
On September 9, 2017, Vagif got married. On November 28, 2017, he began working at the Military Police in Beylagan district, where his work earned him an honorary certificate.
When the Second Karabakh War started on September 27, 2020, Vagif assisted in helping wounded soldiers and transporting martyrs from the battlefield. However, he was not content with just assisting. Despite his commander initially refusing, he repeatedly submitted written requests and finally joined the frontline.
On October 27, while transporting martyrs from Axurlu village in Fuzuli, he was struck by a mortar shell and fell in a neutral zone. Due to heavy gunfire, it was impossible to retrieve his body for four days. On the evening of October 25, his family received the sorrowful news: “Our condolences.” Vagif Ismayilzade attained martyrdom and was buried on October 26 in the Hero village of Beylagan.
By the decrees of the President of Azerbaijan, Vagif Ismayilzade was posthumously awarded the medals "For the Motherland," "For the Liberation of Fuzuli," "For the Liberation of Gubadli," and "For Bravery."
He left behind two sons as his legacy: Vugar Ismayilzade and Renat Ismayilzade.
